Unboxing Ponte Giulio Bathroom Safety Equipment

Do you like looking at brand new bathroom products?

You know that I do!

I wanted to show you some things I got in the mail recently from my friends at Ponte Giulio!

If you aren’t familiar with Ponte Giulio, they’re an Italian company that manufactures bathroom safety equipment.

Just to be upfront, I do have a relationship with them, but they did not pay me to write this blog post or create the video down below on these products.

Ponte Giulio sent this bathroom safety equipment to me so I could take a look at these products, try them out, and show them to you via the internet machine.

So without further ado, I’m going to show you some of the bathroom safety equipment Ponte Giulio sent me. I’d love for you to tell me in the comments down below which one is interesting to you? Which one would you’d like for me to make a more in-depth video or blog?

Maria shows bathroom safety equipment from Ponte Giulio.

White Ponte Giulio Maxima two wall transition grab bar.

Ponte Giulio white Maxima two wall transition grab bar.

This 33” long grab bar is really unique because you’ll notice that it twists in order to mount on two separate walls!

The mounts are really helpful if you have some kind of half wall in your bathroom next to your shower.

The grab bar ensures that you always have a place to grab on it when you’re stepping in and out of the shower, which is very very nice for balance purposes!

The transition grab bar is the most unique I’ve ever seen. I don’t know of any other grab bar manufacturers who make grab bars that twist in order to be mounted on two walls (so if you know of another, please share the info in the comments below!).

The long length of the grab bar allows for households with people of varying heights to easily use it. For example in my house, my husband is 6’ tall, I’m 5’4”, and my daughter is 3’ tall. We all comfortably grip on our vertically placed Prestigio Plus grab bar when stepping in and out of the shower. Go HERE to take a look at my grab bar next to the shower!

Remember, the number one place for falls to occur at home is when stepping out of the shower per the CDC. A long grab bar at the shower entry is a great idea to keep you steady on your feet instead of slipping on the floor!

The transition grab bar also keeps you from falling in other parts of your house, too! Consider putting it at your front door, side door, back door, garage door, or on support beams when stepping up and down off of your patio!

Lastly, the vinyl-coating on this grab bar has a lot of benefits for people who have neuropathy or sensitivity to cold stainless steel grab bars. Check out this video for more information on vinyl-coated grab bars!

Handle-Shaped Grab Bars

Next up on the list are vinyl-coated handle-shaped grab bars!

They have that really nice “warm to the touch” feeling and when you grip them they have that “sneakers against a gym floor” feel as well.

Your hands ain’t sliding nowhere!

Handle-shaped grab bars can be installed in so many different places in your bathroom.

The most popular place is actually on the wall on either side of the bathroom sink. You can hold onto the grab bars as you sit down and pull on them to help stand up from the sink.

This placement helps people who like to sit down and relax at the sink while brushing their teeth, washing their face, brushing their hair, etc.

These handle-shaped grab bars are so much safer than pushing on the sink vanity to stand up and sit down. I’ve worked with people who’ve pushed on the sink so hard that it accidentally fell out of the wall!

It’s worth noting that most sinks are not designed to support your weight when you push or pull on it. If you’re not sure that your sink is meant to support your weight, install handle-shaped grab bars into studs or blocking.

I’ll quickly mention that Ponte Giulio does sell sinks designed for pushing and pulling. Learn more by visiting this link here.

Folding and Locking Extension Grab Bar

Essentially, this is a grab bar that you can fold up or down and lock into place with a pin!

It gives you the option to fold the grab bar up when you want to use it and fold it down to free up space.

If you want more of a demonstration of how the grab bar works, please go to 06:25 in the video above or take a look at my friend’s video, Lindsay at EquipMeOT!

Folding and locking extension grab bars can be installed vertically or horizontally in your bathroom depending on your needs. I’ve even heard of people hanging it from a low ceiling!

Just make sure it’s properly installed into studs or blocking so the grab bar doesn’t pop out of the wall!

They come in stainless steel and white, so it’s sure to match your bathroom aesthetic!

These grab bars won’t rust, so if you’d like to install it in the shower, you’re good to go!

L-shaped Grab Bar

L-Shape Grab Bar
from $76.00

Lastly, I’ve got an L-shaped grab bar that’s 12x24” long in vinyl-coating. They’re available in a variety of different lengths.

The longer side has two flanges for installation. This increases the loading capacity to 450 lbs when you’re pushing down or pulling on it.

Basically, you’d have to be Hercules to rip it off the wall!

L-shaped grab bars help you stay sturdy while sitting down and standing up from a shower seat or toilet.

Now, I love L-shaped grab bars because you can install them so the longer side is vertical or switch it so the shorter side is vertical.

I do believe Ponte Giulio recommends installing the longer side vertically. They offer L-shaped grab bars in right or left so you can easily place the horizontal portion of the grab bar in the direction you need.

In a perfect world, L-shaped grab bars would be on the wall next to the toilet in every public restroom in America. These grab bars give you the option to grip on it horizontally or vertically when you’re standing up and sitting down on the toilet.

For instance, you may feel more comfortable gripping the grab bar vertically when standing up compared to a horizontal grip when sitting down.

L-shaped grab bars are a good idea to consider installing next to your shower seat or next to your toilet at home!
