Grab Bar with Shelf for the Bathroom

It’s a grab bar! It’s a shower shelf!

It’s a grab bar with a shelf!

What in the multifunctionality?

Yes, my friends, a grab bar with shelf combination product does exist thanks to Ponte Giulio! No one’s going to know that you’re gonna hang onto that grab bar for balance!

Feel free to watch the video below or keep reading!

Maria talks about the benefits of using a grab bar with a shower shelf.

Purpose

The grab bar with shelf is meant to be held onto while moving around in the shower. It helps you keep your balance while walking on the slippery floor. Plus it has the added benefit of holding all of your shower items!

You can also push or pull on the grab bar when standing up or sitting down from a shower chair.

Description

The shower shelf is made of stainless steel and has a wavy design with holes to drain water and encourage air drying. We love NOT smelling mildew!

You can place whatever bathroom products you like on the shower shelf, like soap, shampoo, conditioner, wash cloths, loofahs. Anything you need and want to use in the shower!

The grab bar portion goes along the perimeter of the shelf, which makes it intuitive and accessible to hold onto when moving around in the shower.

Since the grab bar kind of hides in plain site, please alert your visitors that they can hold onto the grab bar. They actually may not realize that they can hold onto this shelf for balance!

Vinyl Coating

It’s made of vinyl coating, which feels warm to the touch on your skin. The grab bar gives you a good grip with that “sneakers on a gym floor” feeling.

The vinyl coating has BioCote technology that kills 99.9% of bacteria, viruses, and fungi. It’s perfect in households with more than one person, so you prevent sharing those gross germs!

We love killing viruses in this endemic phase of COVID!

Vinyl coating is also ridiculously easy to clean. All you have to do is take a damp cloth with a dash of mild detergent and wipe the bar down.

Installation

The grab bar shower shelf has a loading capacity up to 250 lbs when it’s installed into studs or blocking.

Please don’t install it into sheet rock only! (Unless you like pulling equipment out of the wall as you helplessly fall to the ground.)

Install the grab bar shower shelf at a height that works best for you. In the video, I had the grab bar shower shelf installed specific to my height and reach in a standing position.

To figure out where to install the grab bar shower shelf for you height, stand in front of the wall, place your arm at your side, and bend your elbow at a 90 degree angle. Then mark the top of your forearm on the wall. That’s the best height for you!

If you’re not sure where to install the grab bar shower shelf, consult with your friendly neighborhood occupational therapist!

Personally, I like being able to hold onto the grab bar while I close my eyes and rinse my hair. I feel steady on my feet and secure knowing that I won’t fall.

Conclusion

Everyone benefits from grab bar shower shelfs from the youngest family members to the oldest. This grab bar with shelf is a great investment to consider in keeping you safe while showering!
