And you deserve to live with dignity, my dear! Sometimes there are things that happen in life that make it hard to wipe and dry your butt. It could be because of illness. It could be because of injury. None of us are exempt from this problem; it's like the great equalizer!

I found it very important today to walk through some butt drying tips with you. And if you have any questions, please let me know about it in the comments below.

If you want advice tailored for your specific needs, please ask your doctor for a referral to see an occupation therapist. This is literally what we do. We love helping you take care of yourself!

Drying Benefits

So why is it important to make sure your bottom is thoroughly dried? Well, when moisture is trapped between the delicate booty folds, it creates all of these gross germs that eventually lead to skin breakdown and also infections in your skin.

It’s similar to when you take care of a baby. You want to make sure the baby's bottom is thoroughly dried. And we want the same for you, my love! I don't want your butt to get weird, nasty, germy sores.

Please know that it is important to dry your butt. Don't just use wet wipes or water and pull up your underwear and hope that everything's going to be okay.

You need to get in there and thoroughly dry your butt! I do want to say it's very important that you don't wipe hard. Wiping hard tugs on your skin. When you dry your bottom, you want to gently pat it.

Sit on a Towel

Are you ready for tip number one? All right. The first tip is to sit down on a towel. It could be a hand towel. It could be a large bath towel. It could be a beach towel. It doesn't matter. Just some kind of absorbent cloth where you could sit down on your bottom.

You can fold up the towel and sit on it multiple times to fully absorb the excess moisture. Sitting down on the towel will help dry up all of that extra water that we don't want hanging around.

Something that I love to recommend to my patients is especially after you use the shower, or if you use a bidet to dry your bottom after use the toilet. Go ahead, put on a robe. Go into your bedroom and take a towel. Sit on your bed. Just sit there. Relax and dry

Air drying is also an option, too. If you like to walk around your house naked and you're okay with that and everyone else is okay with that. By all means, go for it!

Wrap a Towel Around Your Leg

Tip number two. Okay. This one's a little bit more complicated.

While you're seated on the toilet, you are going to take either a hand towel or a bath towel and slip it underneath one leg. One end of the towel’s between your legs and the other end of the towel is on the side of your leg.

Then you will stand up, pull the towel up towards your bottom, and gently pat dry. I think of the towel action as like a patting, gentle squeeze motion. This makes it so you don't have to twist to reach and wipe your bottom.

After you master this if you would like any additional bathroom choreography, just let me know and I'm happy to give it to you! (I’m just kidding!) It’s kind of like a weird towel toilet dance for your butt.

We're not pulling like a boa in between your legs, like in Cabaret, because we don’t want fecal matter ending up in other areas. However, this technique may inspire you to dance along some Liza Minelli tunes!

Air Dryer

Tip number three. Okay, so this is my favorite, but it's also because I have a fancy bidet seat!

What you do is go ahead, treat yourself: get that electric bidet seat and put it on your toilet. On this toilet, I have the Alpha UX Pearl. It is super nice! Yes, you do need to put a GFCI outlet next to your toilet, but it is so worth it!

Clean your bottom with water on the toilet and have the air dryer dry your bottom for you. It’s so easy to remain seated on the toilet and have the bidet do all of the work for you!

The Alpha UX Pearl comes with a remote control. You can have it mounted on the wall next to the toilet or put it on a side table or shelf. Basically, I take out the remote and I push the button that says “dry”.

Please take a look at the ToiletTalk.me Store for a variety of bidet seats! I have all kinds of really nice bidet seats that are high quality. I know you're going to love them!
