Granny's Holiday Gift Guide 2020: Pandemic Edition
Welcome to the holiday season in 2020! We’re all a little more frazzled this year. Or depending on your anti-social attitude, maybe you’re secretly brimming with happiness that it’s safer for you to stay home instead of spending time with wacky family members!
Regardless of your situation, I’ve compiled a shortlist of Granny-approved Christmas gifts for your consideration! All of the gifts on the list are meant to help your loved ones live safely and independently at home!
Just to be upfront, I’m an Amazon affiliate and earn an itty bitty commission if you purchase through any of these links!
1) Ring
Ding dong! Who’s at the door? Don’t let Granny accidentally expose herself to COVID!
Instead, allow her to greet visitors in the comfort of her own home by using Ring and her smartphone!
Granny will be able to tell if it's you or home health visiting without having to get up and open the door. She can relax comfortably while looking at her phone and chatting away with her visitor.
She’ll also be able to watch out for gifts delivered to her door or identify who the little turd is playing doorbell ditch at her house.
Ring is definitely the gift that keeps on giving!
(Not recommended for family members who don’t have a smartphone.)
2) Automatic Door Lock
A complimentary gift to Ring is installing an automatic door lock with a lever style handle!
Every family member can come on over to Granny’s at any time without the need for a key! This makes it easier to carry in Granny’s groceries, Thanksgiving dinner, or laundry all while wearing a mask to protect her!
You’ll achieve the ultimate favorite grandchild status with this one!
3) Lever-Style Door Handle
Speaking of doors, do you want to help out Granny’s arthritis that plagues her day in and out?
Install lever-style door handles on her most commonly used doors at home, like the bathroom and bedroom! That way, she won’t have to grip and turn her wrist to open doors! Granny can easily push down on the door handle with the palm of her hand.
That’s less pain and stress for your Granny!
4) Outdoor Space Heater
Porch visits are harder to do in the winter when it’s freezing out. It’s a struggle to see Granny as much as we’d like.
But we don’t want Granny to be lonely! We want her to stay safe at home knowing you love her!
Treat yourself and Granny with an outdoor space heater! Cozy, warm visits will help make for cozy, warm pandemic memories!
Of course, the ideal outdoor space heater will be determined by your Granny’s home set up. Consider some of these heaters below:
5) “Hard Time Wiping? Let’s Talk A-booty It!” Course
Does Granny have back, shoulder, or hip pain? Or a combination of all of these things?
Does she have accidents because she didn’t make it to the bathroom in time?
Has she been sick a lot recently and feeling pretty weak?
If any of these things are true for your Granny, she most likely is having a hard time wiping after using the toilet.
Replace her feelings of embarrassment with confidence by taking my online course, “Hard Time Wiping? Let’s Talk A-booty it!”
This one hour, online course will show Granny toilet techniques and four options to clean her booty easier! This will help her feel happier and more confident in her ability to care for herself!
And you’ll feel like an awesome, supportive grandchild!
